PLEASE HELP US...

The thing people don't know about those who go to volunteer their time, energy, skills and compassion in humanitarian crises everywhere, is that they must be self funded.  That means that not only do they not earn a wage while working their butts off in inclement weather, doing the most unglamourous jobs known to man, well over a normal 40 hour week, often in the middle of the night, but they also have to be able to cover their own expenses for lodging, food and transportation.

So, most save up all year to take a holiday, and go and spend that holiday assisting people who are in crisis, sometimes at great risk to life and limb.  Or, get funding from friends & family,  local charities, our own fundraising efforts (yes, like GoFundMe), or crowd sourcing for charities, even bake sales, and selling our used stuff on eBay, Craigslist or Gumtree.  Mostly though, we spend our own money working this way because the job needs doing and we're getting it done, with your help.  We simply cannot do it alone!

So even if you're not here in person, you ARE here with every warrior everywhere through your generosity and every pair of warm socks, cup of tea and hug we provide on your behalf!

On the other side of that, we must also raise funds for emergency supplies, like blankets, socks (lots of socks!), footwear, feminine hygeine, nappies (that's diapers :), baby formula, medicines, hypothermia blankets, warm clothing, baby carriers, backpacks - the list goes on and on.   We must also be mindful that while accepting donations from abroad of some of these items, if at all possible, we must think about purchasing locally to boost the local economies of those places where refugees land, camps are set up, or vicitms need help.  After all, the Greek islands, let's say, didn't ask for the extra burden of caring for the influx of people and are often struggling under it's yoke. This is why monetary donations - to keep the volunteers on the ground, and support the bighearted people who live in these areas - is vital to the work everyone is doing.  And fair enough, not everyone can donate money but even the contents of a coin jar, piggy bank or a single $ can save someone's life. Please give generously whatever pennies you can spare, whether  to the worst humanitarian disaster since the second world war, victims of natural disasters, or of war - we're counting on you!

I will personally see to it that whatever you can spare goes to best use on the ground. And thank you from me, all the volunteers, and especially from the mums and dads whose child you've just saved.

When you click above, on the left of the next screen you will note that the item price box is empty.  Please type the amount you wish to donate in the box and then login as normal - there is NO minimum amount!  If you wish to use a debit or credit card, click the link at the bottom right and fill in the details.
